These speakers dove deep into the importance of investing in the technology that protects your company, and its information. They also discussed major current events in the cybersecurity world, such as The Colonial Pipeline.

Here is a recap:

Luke began the webinar by asking the panel how the President's new executive order, that implements new security measures that will be required for all small businesses, was affecting them. Jeff started the conversation by referencing the incidents related to the colonial pipeline. He shared that there have been thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of recent cyberattacks, and that RCS Professional is working hard to protect all of their clients so that this doesn't happen to them.

The panelists then began to discuss all the different ways that you can protect your business - virtual and physical. Some examples included multi-factor authentication; they spoke about finding a secure place to set up your office. They also emphasized the importance of ensuring clients and customers have a safe place to connect so that they won't get hacked.

From a physical standpoint, the panelists suggested using anything from basic audio servers to control automation servers to protect your environment. Again, there is an emphasis on having a secure network so that all security can be tied together to create a cohesive, secure, system so that you can trust that your business is safe.

The bottom line is that the first step in building up a secure business, whether you're an established company or a brand new small business, is to hold strategic conversations with your team and bring on knowledgeable experts where appropriate. Be sure to consult with all relevant parties to assist you. The experts can help you come up with a tactical plan and implement it.
